Last Hope 4 Paws is an all-volunteer, 501c3, non-profit organization based in Rosarito, Mexico and San Diego, California.
Our organization consists of all volunteers who are dedicated to saving abandoned dogs and cats on the streets throughout northern Baja and southern California. Many of the animals we rescue have a slim chance of getting out alive due to sickness, injury or lack of kennel space.
We focus on street dogs and cats who are in need of medical care with little chance of survival, so we don’t often have the resources to take pets from owners who can no longer keep them (though always contact us and we can use our resources to find homes for all animals).
We try to give each animal we rescue an opportunity to see a licensed veterinarian who can administer any medical care needed as well as give:
- Vaccinations
- Spay/Neuter
- Bath/groom
- Flea treatment
Our rescues are either fostered by families or boarded with veterinarians until they can be adopted into permanent, loving homes. Last Hope 4 Paws doesn’t discriminate against any animal based on breed, size or age–all dogs and cats are created equal in our eyes!
Medical care can be expensive for all animals, and our rescues are no different. A vast majority of our animals are found hurt and/or neglected. We run 100% on donations from our supporters, so if you would like to donate to our cause or a specific animal, please navigation to our DONATE page to help give assist our cause. No donation is too small!

I dream of a world where all animals are treated with empathy, kindness, and respect. Like us, they have emotions and are typically more intelligent than we give them credit for. Seeing animals giving birth, protecting their young with all their might, and experiencing the heartbreak of losing or being separated from their young is a reminder that they have the capacity to love and feel just as deeply as we do. I have been rescuing animals for many years, covering the costs necessary to save and heal them, with the goal of finding them loving homes through friends and social media. With the help of attorney friends and a 501(c)3 foundation, we have rescued nearly 800 animals, primarily dogs. Our mission is to operate a no-kill shelter, caring for and treating all animals with love and compassion. We have chosen to base our shelter in Mexico as it is more cost-effective, which allows us to help more animals. We appreciate all the support and donations we have received. Together, we can make the world a better place for animals.
